The following is a list of area Independence Day celebrations happening in North Idaho.
Tuesday
Kiddie Parade – Participants begin lining up at 9:30 a.m., parade at 10, route is from 10th Street on Sherman Avenue to Independence Point. Theme is “My Favorite Movie.” 769-2250.
Demoliton Derby and Fireworks Extravaganza – 5 p.m. at Stateline Speedway, 1349 Beck Road at Stateline. Demolition derby followed by fireworks. Advanced tickets available at Post Falls Les Schwab Tire, $13/adults, $11/ages 12-15/senior and military, $6/ages 6-11, $30/family. 773-5019.
Faith and Freedom Celebration – Tuesday, 7 p.m., Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., Sandpoint. Christian Faith and Freedom Coalition. Free. 255-7801.
Wednesday
Bonners Ferry
Independence Day Celebration – parade entries gather at 10 a.m. at BTC parking lot, then proceed down U.S. Highway 95 to the fairgrounds. Parade begins at noon through downtown followed by street party on Main Street with live music. Fireworks at dusk at the fairgrounds. 267-5922.
Coeur d’Alene
Fourth of July Festival – parade at 11 a.m. on Sherman Avenue downtown from Eighth Street to City Park. Also live music, boat parade, fireworks over the lake by City Beach begins at approximately 10 p.m. 664-3194.
Harrison
Fireworks Display – Fireworks viewable by boat or shore, begins over the lake at dusk. 689-3669.
Priest Lake
Fireworks Display – Fireworks at various resorts over the lake. 667-7306.
Priest River
Fourth of July Celebration – Fireworks show over the Pend Oreille River, begins at 10 p.m.
Sandpoint
Fourth of July Celebration – Kids parade 9 a.m., kids meet at 7:30 at city parking lot, judging at 8. Grand parade, 10, begins at Fifth Avenue and Church Street. Variety show, face-painting, free ice cream, noon at City Beach, fireworks at dusk at City Beach. 263-0887.
Kellogg
Independence Day Celebration – Pancake breakfast, 8-11 a.m. at the Kellogg Elks. Horseshoe tournament, 10 a.m., $100 grand prize. Parade at noon, from Division and Main Street intersection to City Park. Bingo, 2 p.m. at the Scout House. Celebration and carnival at City Park, 1-5 with carnival. Silver Hoops Hoop Shoot basketball tournament, 1, talent show, 2-4 street fair, public pool hours, 1-4. Street dance and live music by Kelly Hughes Band, 6:30-9:30. at Teeters Field downtown. Grand finale fireworks display begins 10. at the ball field, downtown Kellogg. 682-4585.
Spirit Lake
Old Fashioned Fourth of July – parade participants gather at 10 a.m. at the elementary school, parade begins at 11 followed by music, vendors, food and games in the park. Fireworks at dusk at the ballfield at 10th Street and Jefferson Avenue. 623-2275.
