People : We’ll see the life of a Spice

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

When Victoria Beckham moves to L.A., the momentous event will be recorded for television by the creator of “American Idol.”

NBC has signed a deal for six episodes of a half-hour unscripted series chronicling the former Posh Spice’s relocation from Europe with her soccer-star husband, David, who has signed to play with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The series, which may air this summer, will be produced by Simon Fuller, the “American Idol” magnate who managed the Spice Girls.

It will examine how Beckham, transfers her support system, including publicist, stylist and personal assistant, to a new town and show her shopping for items like a home and car.

“For the past few years, I’ve been inundated with requests to make a show based on Victoria’s real life,” Fuller says. “After much thought, we have finally decided to do it.”

For her part, Beckham says: “This show is really something different. It’s pushing the boundaries, and I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people.”

They skipped the church

Welsh singer Charlotte Church announced Thursday that she is pregnant by her rugby star boyfriend Gavin Henson.

Church, 21, who sang at the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, hosts a British television show and was named GQ’s Woman of the Year in 2005.

Bad news Browns

On the celebrity Brown beat, R&B singer Bobby Brown finally paid $19,000 in late child support and court fees and was freed after spending three nights in a Massachusetts jail.

And rapper Foxy Brown was allowed to remain free Thursday after pleading guilty to a probation violation – though the judge warned her it was her last chance.

Brown, charged with battery and resisting arrest following a fracas at a beauty supply store, previously pleaded guilty to assaulting manicurists at a nail salon.

Long and winding road

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills appeared in London’s High Court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing in their divorce case.

McCartney whistled and snapped his fingers as he left the building after the two-hour hearing, flashing a peace sign to photographers.

Keeping a leg down

By the way, in case you were wondering, Heather Mills plans to wear a special strap when she competes on the upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” so her prosthetic leg doesn’t fly off.

Mills lost her leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident in 1993.

Big pussy, indeed

And speaking of “Dancing With the Stars,” Vincent Pastore, who played mobster Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on “The Sopranos,” has dropped out of the competition.

Pastore, 60, said the training for the show was more rigorous than he expected.
