People: With six, you get egg roll

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country’s top adoption official said Friday.

A U.S. adoption agency representing the 31-year-old actress filed the papers at Vietnam’s International Adoption Agency, said the agency’s director.

He added that she applied as a single parent.

Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt, have three children: 5-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old daughter Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May in Namibia.

The couple made a surprise visit to Vietnam at Thanksgiving, including a stop at the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.

The orphanage director declined to comment on the new adoption report, saying he was waiting to receive papers from the International Adoption Agency.

On shaky ground

Rapper Kelis was arrested early Friday in Miami Beach for trying to disrupt an undercover police operation by screaming racial profanities and rushing toward two female officers posing as prostitutes.

The 27-year-old was charged with the two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence, and released on $1,500 bond.

Kelis had a chart-topping single, “Milkshake,” from her 2003 album, “Tasty.” She married rapper Nas in 2005.

C-Murder and not heard

A rapper under house arrest can promote his new CD and novel but cannot talk about the second-degree murder charge against him, a Louisiana judge has ruled.

While behind bars, Corey Miller recorded an album and wrote a novel, “Death Around the Corner,” under his old stage name, C-Murder. He has since been using C-Miller instead.

Pay-and-airplay

The latest on the Bobby Brown beat: It turns out that a Washington, D.C., area radio station paid the $19,150 he owed in late child-support payments and court fees, freeing him after a three-night stay in a Massachusetts jail.

In return, the R&B singer has agreed to appear on Hot 99.5 FM for one week, where he will discuss what he did wrong and how he could turn his life around, a station spokesman said, adding: “We are going to have a very open and candid conversation.”

Once again, Cliff delivers

A mailman is replacing a hitman on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

John Ratzenberger, who played Cliff Claven on “Cheers,” replaces “Sopranos” actor Vincent Pastore, who quit after a week of training.

The reality series returns March 19. Ratzenberger had previously turned down an offer to join the cast for the 10-week competition because of a scheduling conflict, the network said.
