Community update: Crab fest, auctions to aid ICARE

The ICARE Children and Family Advocacy Center’s fifth annual Crab Fest and Auction will be Friday at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

The auction viewing will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner, featuring crab legs, dessert, and the live and silent auctions, begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. Proceeds will benefit ICARE, a nonprofit program with the mission of reducing child abuse and neglect in Kootenai County.

Alzheimer’s group gala

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, the seventh annual Nancy Rockwell Gala will be held at Northern Quest Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road.

A silent auction and dancing will begin the evening, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and a live auction at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $75 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Inland Northwest Chapter.

Yoke’s/KXLY food drive

On Friday, visit local Yoke’s grocery stores to participate in the Yoke’s/KXLY food drive and help support Second Harvest Inland Northwest.

From 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., customers may donate nonperishable food items and also purchase pre-stocked grocery bags for $5 or $10 each.

All proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

Christian Heritage event

The 17th annual Christian Heritage School silent auction and rummage sale begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. A live auction will begin at noon.

Items available in the auctions include hotel stays, gift certificates and gift baskets. Proceeds will benefit the school.
