Hints from Heloise
Dear Readers: With these cooler days still upon us, doesn’t a nice, warm bowl of soup sound like just the thing? We thought we would share some quick soup ideas from Heloise Central:
“Here’s a quick soup from the pantry: Use tomato or vegetable juice as the base, add in a cube or two of beef bouillon and then whatever fresh veggies you have on hand. Let simmer and enjoy!
“To make a quick egg drop soup, use chicken bouillon for the base and add in seasonings (my favorite is Italian seasoning, which has a blend of about five spices) and then swirl in a beaten egg or two and cook.
“A great soup meal is to use a bean mix package and pop it into a slow cooker with water according to package directions. You can add cooked hamburger meat or even some sausage, and it is delicious. This will need to cook all day – but it is worth the wait! And it can be cooking while you are working!– Heloise
