Auditions

“The Laramie Project” – StageWest Community Theatre, today and Friday, 7 p.m., and Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at the Wren Pierson Community Building, 615 Fourth St., Cheney. Men and women of all ages are needed. Call (509) 235-4575.

“The Sound of Music” – Spokane Civic Theatre, 1020 N. Howard, for the children, Maria and Capt. Von Trapp, Sunday, 2 p.m.; all other adults, Monday and Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. Needed: seven to 14 children ages 6-16, 16 women and 10 men. Children should memorize a verse and chorus from “The Sound of Music” and be prepared to read cold from the script. “See How They Run” – Ignite Community Theater, Monday and Tuesday, 7 p.m. at the theater, 1003 E. Trent. Needed: one woman appearing age 18-20, one woman age 25-30, one woman age 35-40 and six men to appear 25-60. “Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You” and “Actor’s Nightmare” – Sirius Idaho Theater seeks actors for these two one-act comedies, Monday, 7:30 p.m. at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center, 208 S. Main, Moscow. Needed: six women, four men and one boy age 8-12. Some actors may be cast in both plays. Auditioners should prepare a short monologue. Performance dates: April 12-21. “Mary, Mary” – Pend Oreille Players Association, March 26 and 27, 7 p.m. at 121 Spokane Street, Newport, Wash. Needed: three men to appear 30-60 and two women to appear 20-30s. Classes and workshops

Digital Hand Drumming Workshops – Three eight-week sessions featuring drums from around the world will be offered by the Malidoma World Drum and Dance Studio, 408 W. Third: West African Drumming, Thursdays beginning today, 6-7 p.m.; Middle-Eastern Drumming, Fridays beginning March 16, 6-7 p.m.; and Afro-Cuban Drumming, Saturdays beginning March 17, noon-1 p.m. Drums provided. Murder in the Grove Mystery Contest – Previously unpublished authors are invited to submit four copies of the first 20 pages of a mystery novel plus four copies of a synopsis no more than five pages long to the Popular Fiction Association of Idaho. Writers Competition – The Coeur d’Alene Public Library’s 19th annual writing contest is seeking unpublished fiction and nonfiction prose of 2,000 words or less (no poetry). Writers age 6 and up may enter. A copy of the rules and an entry form are available at the library, 201 E. Call for artists

Art on the Green – Artists are invited to design a poster for this summer’s art show. Entries should be 12-by-16 inches, in finished form and unframed; leave space for lettering and a logo. Inland Crafts – Artist applications are being accepted for the annual juried exhibition at the Spokane Convention Center on Nov. 2-4. Interested artists must submit five representative digital files (no slides) and two optional (a booth or group shot and a detail), a one-page resume and a $15 fee by April 2. Historic Logos – Artists are invited to design logos for the Fort Russell Neighborhood Historic District and the Moscow Downtown Historic District, both in Moscow, Idaho. The logos will be used on signs, brochures and other promotional information. Submissions are due at the Moscow Historic Preservation Commission by April 2.
