Hints from Heloise
Dear Heloise: I have a great hint if multiple members of your family like to read the same magazines, but you have trouble remembering where you left off. My fiance, Mike, and I tried traditional bookmarks, but they fall out too easily, so we came up with this idea:
As soon as a new magazine arrives in the mail, I take a square self-sticky note and cut it in half. With the sticky part attached to the magazine, I write my name on one half of the sticky note and Mike’s on the other half. I use the note to mark the last page I have read. No more confusion. As an added bonus, we know when the magazine has been read completely because the other person’s sticky note has been removed. Now I can pass it on to someone else. And if I want to save an article, I can rip it out once Mike’s sticky note is past the article I want. – Valerie T. and Mike L. in Saltsburg, Pa.
