Kimberly Lynn allowed three hits and no runs and struck out eight as Lake City blanked visiting Sandpoint 10-0 in Inland Empire League action Thursday in Coeur d’Alene.
Richelle Fenenbock was 2 for 4 with two runs scored for the Timberwolves, who had 14 hits.
Lynn picked up the win for Lake City (2-0, 2-0) while Molly Givens took the loss for the Bulldogs (0-1, 0-1).
Elsewhere in the IEL, Sean Topp struck out 10 and allowed two runs on two hits as Post Falls beat visiting Lakeland (1-2, 0-2) 5-2. The Trojans’ Cassie Joseph tied the game at two with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth. Post Falls (1-1, 1-1) then went ahead for good after scoring two runs in the sixth.

Andrew Kittredge pitched a complete game five-hitter and added a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning as Ferris opened the Greater Spokane League baseball season with an 8-3 win over visiting Shadle Park (0-1). The Saxons (1-0) came into the sixth trailing 3-2, but scored six runs to go ahead 8-3.
In other GSL openers, Paul Smith allowed one hit in five innings as Mt. Spokane shut out visiting Rogers (0-1) 5-0. Mark Purser put the Wildcats (1-0) on top early with a two-run home run in the first inning. Nic Fowler’s three-run triple in the fourth put Mt. Spokane up 5-0. … Rusty Shellhorn pitched six innings without allowing a hit and struck out nine as Central Valley routed visiting Gonzaga Prep (0-1) 10-0 in six innings.
