Area Roundup: Prugh, Eneroth post victories
Two former Greater Spokane League golfers fared well at the Oregon Duck Invitational on Tuesday.
Alex Prugh, a 2003 Ferris graduate at the University of Washington, shot a final-round score of 2-under-par 70 to claim a share of medalist honors at the Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
Prugh finished the tournament at 2-under 214, joining UCLA’s Kevin Chappell and USC’s Jamie Lovemark atop the leaderboard. Prugh’s Huskies finished sixth at 23-over 887.
The Washington State men took 11th.
For the women, 2005 Mead graduate and Washington State standout Amy Eneroth won in a playoff over San Francisco’s Jessica Potter to take first place at Shadow Hills Country Club. Eneroth finished at 6-over 222.
The WSU women placed second. Gonzaga finished 12th, followed by Eastern Washington.
Baseball
Lewis-Clark State College (23-2) scored five runs in the top of the 13th inning and beat host Gonzaga 11-6 in non-conference play.
Shawn Wayt took the loss for the Bulldogs (16-14) after allowing five runs on four hits in one-third of an inning.
