Name: Darin Payton

Age: 41

Hometown: I grew up in Everett, but we’ve lived in Coeur d’Alene since 1995.

Occupation: I side houses now. I had my own produce store in Rathdrum, then was a produce manager for Albertsons for 17 years.

Family: Tammy and I have two girls, Dannie, 9, and Ryanne, 7.

Hobbies: Family bike rides and camping. And Tammy and I really like playing board games with the kids.

What do you like about North Idaho? I love the four seasons, the changes in weather.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? During the winter, I really don’t care to work outside in 10-degree weather. It’s challenging. But on the other hand, it’s great to take the kids sledding.

Favorite music: Country, especially Alan Jackson

Favorite TV show: “Scrubs”

Favorite movie: “My Cousin Vinnie” had me rolling on the floor.

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Absolutely, the Hiawatha Trail. It’s beautiful and just great for family bike rides. We’ve seen turtles, snakes and fish, and the kids can ride it easily.
