Motorcyclist injured in crash
A motorcyclist was in fair condition Tuesday evening after he slid his bike as it approached slow-moving traffic, causing him to fall off, the Idaho State Police said.
Robin J. Petri, 51, of Stevensville, Mont., was near the top of Fourth of July Pass shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday and was approaching a group of slow vehicles, said Trooper Chuck Robnett.
Petri applied his brakes, which caused his bike to fishtail and sent him flying.
The motorcycle continued another 100 feet before it stopped in the left lane, police said.
It was unknown if Petri was wearing a helmet.
Petri was taken to Kootenai Medical Center.
He was cited for driving under the influence and for driving while his license was suspended, police said.
