Pianist Lorie Line to perform at Bing
Pianist Lorie Line makes her Spokane debut with a concert Friday at the Bing Crosby Theater.
The show is part of Line’s “Intimate Evening Series,” which showcases her original compositions and favorite standards in a relaxed setting with a small group of backing players.
The mellow, Minnesota-based musician got her professional start serenading shoppers at a Minneapolis department store in the late 1980s. After making an initial album with an engineer whose name she found on a George Winston record, she formed her own company and began touring and recording.
Line, known for her Holiday Extravaganza tours, has recorded 26 albums and released 20 complete books of sheet music. The mother of two also has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities benefiting children.
Friday’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Bing (formerly The Met), 901 W. Sprague Ave. Tickets are $32, through TicketsWest outlets (509-325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).
