Car rolls down embankment; 2 hurt

Two people were injured Thursday after their car rolled down an embankment on Highway 3.

The 1991 Pontiac Sunbird went off the road near a sharp corner north of St. Maries at 12:45 p.m., according to the Idaho State Police. One of the occupants, Lateaya L. Collins, 18, of St. Maries, was ejected from the car.

Vicky L. Mcneely, 53, of Spokane, was also injured in the wreck.

State Police officers said they were not sure who was driving the vehicle during the crash, and it also wasn’t clear if either was wearing seat belts.

Collins was in critical condition Thursday night at Kootenai Medical Center, while Mcneely was in fair condition.

The crash is under investigation.
