Westminster revives tea tradition

Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ is bringing back an annual tradition that dates back decades.

The church’s Apple Blossom Tea will be at noon Sunday and will be hosted by the church’s Women’s Fellowship group.

The gathering also will include a presentation on the church’s historic stained-glass windows as part of the church’s Heritage Sunday celebration. Child care will be provided.

Donations will be accepted, with proceeds benefiting the stained-glass window preservation campaign.

The church is at 411 S. Washington St.

Pilgrim anniversary

Anyone who has attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church over the years is invited to an 80th anniversary celebration on Sunday.

There will be a single service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception.

Current and former members are invited to bring a few memories to share.

The church is at 2733 W. Northwest Blvd.

Buddhist celebration

The Spokane Buddhist Temple will host a celebration of the birthday of Shinran Shonin, the founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Don Castro of the Seattle Betsuin Temple.

The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the temple, 927 S. Perry St.

Rummage sale

St. John’s Lutheran Church will host a rummage sale today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, at Third Avenue and Division Street.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to box up the church’s pipe organ so it can be moved to the church’s new location.
