PLANT CITY, Fla. – The North Idaho College softball team kept its national title hopes alive after winning both games Friday at the NJCAA Division I national championships.

The Cardinals beat Texarkana 5-1 in their first game. Kelcey Cavan earned the win after allowing four hits in the complete game.

NIC advanced to play Georgia Perimeter and won 4-3. Keely Torgison’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth scored Justine Williams and won it for the Cardinals.

North Idaho (45-26) meets Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (54-6) today in a loser-out game.
