People: For Paul, is it live and let die?
Heather Mills McCartney is accusing estranged husband Paul McCartney of failing to protect her and their 3-year-old daughter from death threats.
“Do you fear for your life?” she was asked in a British television interview Wednesday.
“Yes I do, yes I do,” she said.
“And you are saying that Paul McCartney does not protect you and your child?”
“I’m afraid not,” she replied.
In another interview, she said: “I have a box of evidence that’s going to a certain person, should anything happen to me, so if you top me off it’s still going to that person, and the truth will come out.
“There is so much fear from a certain party of the truth coming out that lots of things have been put out and done, so the police came ‘round and said, ‘You have had serious death threats from an underground movement.’ “
Asked whether that “certain party” was McCartney, she said: “I can’t say, because I’d be in contempt of (divorce) court. But you’re not stupid, that’s all I can say.”
A spokesman for the former Beatle declined to comment.
Her visits will be briefed
A day after being granted limited visits with her two young sons, Britney Spears defended her parenting on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show.
A court commissioner on Tuesday granted Spears three monitored visits each week.
Asked if she was doing all she could for her kids, Spears said, “Oh God yeah. … People say what they want and do what they do and it’s sad how people, how cruel our world can be.”
As for how often she would see her sons, she added: “That’s, like, all in the court. Stuff like that, my lawyers know all that stuff.”

Jennifer Lopez is pregnant, her designer says.
Asked what types of clothing he designs for celebrities, Roberto Cavalli told People magazine: “Well Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby.
“It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger,” he added.
Prison, with a slight break
Former “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison was sentenced to three years and four months in prison Wednesday for a drunken driving crash that killed a 17-year-old boy.
Classmates and relatives of the deceased, Vahagn Setian, had collected more than 3,000 signatures on a petition asking that Garrison, 27, receive the maxium seven-year sentence.
Garrison met Setian and two 15-year-old girls at a grocery store and drove them to a party. Police said he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent and was under the influence of cocaine.
Dropping with the stars
Finally, in case you were wondering, “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Jane Seymour was absent from Tuesday’s results show because of food poisoning.
Seymour remains in the competition, as does Marie Osmond, who fainted on the air after finishing a samba last week.
