Strait scores 14 in Montana’s win over Colorado State
MISSOULA – Andrew Strait scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds to help Montana to a 75-39 win over Colorado State during the teams’ season basketball opener Friday night.
Jordan Hasquet scored 12 points for the Grizzlies (1-0), and Cameron Rundles and Matt Martin each added 11.
Montana led 26-19 at halftime and outscored the Rams 49-20 in the second half. Overall, the Grizzlies hit 48 percent of their shots compared with 34 percent shooting by the Rams. Montana also made 10 of 21 attempts from 3-point range, including 6 of 11 in the second half. CSU missed all 10 of its 3-point attempts.
Willis Gardner and Stuart Creason led Colorado State (0-1) with 10 points apiece. Gardner had a team-high seven rebounds.
