Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: I have several pairs of eyeglasses that I have collected from the family. It has become my job to find a place to donate them. Any suggestions? – Vada Baker, via e-mail

Lions Clubs International collects old eyeglasses to redistribute them to the needy. They usually have drop boxes at restaurants, etc. To find a box in your area, call the Lions Club, which should be happy to help you.

They also accept lenses (preferably in pairs). So, take a few minutes and look through your home to gather old glasses and drop them off. Heloise

Dear Heloise: I have lots of scarves, but storing them was a problem because they would get wrinkled in drawers. So, I took a clothes hanger and hot-glued several clothespins to each side. Now the scarves are hanging neatly in my closet. They do not wrinkle, and best of all, when I am deciding what to wear, I can see them all at once. – Mitzi in Texas
