Witt treament unspeakable
I am appalled at the story about Margaret Witt (“Court reviewing firing of Air Force nurse,” Nov. 6).
It is incomprehensible that Congress would pass “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” while our borders remain open to illegal immigrants who enter our country by the thousands on a daily basis (which could lead to acts of terrorism).
If the Air Force can throw away a person due to their sexual orientation, then they can throw away people for being Wiccan, Buddhist, Muslim, etc.
You cannot tell another person who to love, what to believe and who and what to worship. If you do, you are violating the constitutional rights of those people.
If something like this happened to Margaret Witt, then what does it say about the freedoms and liberties that are our birthright?
Whatever happened to “Liberty and Justice for all”? Does it only apply to the “cookie cutter” people of our nation?
I firmly believe that Margaret Witt never posed a threat; on the contrary she is a courageous person who only wanted to help others while serving her country.
It is disturbing that Congress wastes our tax dollars on issues that have no merit.
I fully support Margaret Witt.
