Top 25 men: BYU shocks Louisville
Jonathan Tavernari hit five 3-pointers while scoring a career-best 29 points, and Brigham Young capitalized on No. 6 Louisville’s injuries and weariness as the Cougars (5-0) got a 78-76 victory Friday night over the Cardinals (3-1) in the Las Vegas Invitational.
(1) North Carolina 99, Old Dominion 82: At Las Vegas, Ty Lawson scored a career-high 23 points, Tyler Hansbrough had 27 and the Tar Heels (4-0) advanced to the final of the Las Vegas Invitational with a victory over the Monarchs (3-2).
(2) UCLA 81, Yale 47: At Los Angeles, Kevin Love and Russell Wesbrook had 15 points apiece and the Bruins (6-0) breezed past the Bulldogs (1-3).
(7) Tennessee 74, West Virginia 72: At Newark, N.J., Chris Lofton scored 19 points to lead the Volunteers (5-0) past the Mountaineers (2-1) in the semifinals of the StubHub Legends Classic.
(8) Indiana 70, Illinois St. 57: At Hoffman Estates, Ill., freshman Eric Gordon scored 31 points to lead the Hoosiers (4-0) past the Musketeers (3-1) in the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
(15) Texas 102, New Mexico St. 87: At Newark, N.J., A.J. Abrams had career bests of 31 points and nine 3-pointers to lead the Longhorns (4-0) past the Aggies (2-3) in the semifinals of the StubHub Legends Classic.

(20) Villanova 84, George Mason 76: At Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Scottie Reynolds scored 21 points and the Wildcats (4-0) beat the Patriots (4-1) in the Old Spice Classic.
(23) Virginia 100, Penn 85: At Philadelphia, Adrian Joseph had 23 points to lead the Cavaliers (5-0) in a win over the Quakers (1-4) in the Philly Hoop Group Classic.
Florida St. 65, (25) Florida 51: At Gainesville, Fla., Jason Rich had 20 points and 11 rebounds and the Seminoles (5-2) beat the Gators (5-1).
