Annual Christmas event continues at Davenport

The 25th annual Christmas Tree Elegance continues tonight at the Davenport Hotel with An Evening with Eckart and Friends.

Held in the Isabella Ballroom, this holiday treat features Spokane Symphony conductor Eckart Preu, playing his German coffee house and holiday piano favorites. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Enjoy a holiday luncheon and style show in the Grand Pennington Ballroom on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and are by reservation only.

The annual holiday affair will wrap up with the 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner Dance on Friday in the Grand Pennington Ballroom, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

This evening includes a champagne reception at 6 and a gourmet dinner with fine wines at 8. A Gala Tree, including a one-carat diamond, will be raffled off at 10. Tickets to the Gala are $125 per person and are by reservation only.

All proceeds from this year’s Christmas Tree Elegance benefit the Spokane Symphony Orchestra.

Festival of Trees Family Day

Kids can get their “hands on” at the Festival of Trees Family Day today at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Tree viewing and live entertainment from local school groups will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $2 at the door and free for children age 2 and under.

The Children’s Workshop is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and includes face painting and hands-on crafts just for kids. Cost is $1 per craft project.

All proceeds from the Festival of Trees benefit critical care services at Kootenai Medical Center.

Yuletide at the Spokane Art School

From 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the 28th annual Yuletide begins at the Spokane Art School.

The evening includes a preview of the Civic Theater’s holiday production, food, music and wine.

Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Proceeds support art classes, exhibitions, and community outreach programs at the Spokane Art School.

Breakfast with Santa

Have breakfast with Santa on Saturday at Center Pointe, 1408 N. Washington St.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., enjoy pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage, fruit and juice for $5 ($4 for children and seniors). A craft sale will also be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

After breakfast, have your picture taken with Santa for $5.

West Valley High School Benefit

On Saturday the West Valley High School Band Boosters will hold their annual auction and dinner at the West Valley High School Commons, 8301 E. Buckeye Ave., to raise money for the West Valley High School Marching Band and Color Guard’s spring trip to San Francisco.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. and includes a raffle, along with a silent and live auction. Prizes in the raffle include a 2007 Ford Focus, a 2007 Polaris ATV and a 2007 John Deere riding lawn mower.

Mud and Spirits

The fourth annual Mud and Spirits, hosted by the Clay Arts Guild of North Idaho, will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Old Church Arts and Cultural Center, 405 William St. in Post Falls.

The event includes live music and hourly pottery raffles.

Admission is free. Proceeds raised from this event benefit promotion of clay art and education in the community.
