Santa breakfast to benefit Mobius
Santa Claus is coming to town and you’re invited. Mobius Kids will host a breakfast and fun activities with Santa on Saturday at the Davenport Hotel’s Grand Pennington Ballroom. Plan on being there from 8 to 11 a.m. to meet the red-robed man himself, feast at the breakfast buffet, create holiday crafts and fun science shows. Kids can also have their pictures taken with Santa while they’re giving him a list of things they want for Christmas (which may or may not include two front teeth).
The fourth annual breakfast benefits Mobius Kids and is part of the Christmas Tree Elegance activities hosted by the Spokane Symphony Associates. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at Mobius Kids or by calling (509) 624-KIDS.
Auntie’s Angels
So often kids spend the Christmas season focusing on themselves and what new toys and electronic gadgets they want for Christmas. Parents looking for a way to teach kids that the season is about giving and helping those less fortunate can turn to the Angel Tree Project at Auntie’s Bookstore. The store has put up a large tree decorated with hundreds of paper angels with the names of local children who would like to receive a new book for Christmas.
Shoppers can work with the store’s staff to select an age-appropriate book for each name. The books will be wrapped and delivered in time to be under the Christmas tree. The store is at 402 W. Main Ave. Those who can’t stop by may call (509) 838-0206 to make a donation to the project.
Holiday sprit
The next Family MacFest event at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Cultures on Dec. 8 is all about Old-Fashioned Holidays. Families can take a look at the decorated-for-the-season Campbell House and participate in other winter holiday activities. It runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the museum, at 2316 W. First Ave. Admission is $10 per family, which includes all exhibits and galleries.
