Weber leads Greyhounds to victory over Indians

Cody Weber’s 44-yard run with just more than 6 minutes left gave Pullman a 26-20 win over Colville in a Great Northern League game Friday in Colville.

The Indians’ Brandon Katzer ran for a touchdown in the first quarter and caught a 6-yard pass for another score to give Colville (5-1, 2-1) a 13-6 lead at the half.

Pullman (6-0, 3-0) responded with 14 points in the third. Jared Byers scored from 1 yard out and Weber returned a blocked punt 10 yards for another score.

Colville’s Casey Cox scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth to tie the game at 20 before Weber scored the game-winner for the Greyhounds.

Elsewhere in the GNL, Brian O’Kelley caught two touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Clarkston (6-0, 3-0) to a 34-19 win over visiting Cheney. DeAngelo Jones threw two touchdown passes for the Blackhawks (4-2, 2-1), who could not recover after falling behind 27-6 at the half. With the win, the Bantams remain tied with Pullman for first place in the GNL. … Nick Hughes ran for 112 yards on 18 carries and scored from 2 yards out in the fourth to give host Riverside (4-2, 1-2) a 14-11 win over Deer Park. Alex Wolf scored on a 90-yard run in the fourth to pull the Stags (2-4, 0-3) within three, but they would come no closer. Wolf finished with 119 yards rushing. … Bryan Peterson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as West Valley routed host Medical Lake 55-7. The Eagles (2-4, 1-2) outscored the Cardinals (2-4, 0-3) 42-0 after the first quarter.

Northeast A League

Lucas Fox scored two first-half touchdowns to lead Kettle Falls (5-1, 5-1) to a 15-13 Northeast A League victory over visiting Lakeside (5-1, 5-1). Fox finished with 167 yards on 36 carries and one touchdown and also caught a 6-yard pass for another score. The Bulldogs’ Luke Daniels intercepted a pass with 1:36 left in the game to preserve the win. … In other league action, Lucas Matthews ran for a touchdown and threw for another score to lead Freeman to a 34-0 shutout of host Newport (1-5, 1-5). Kyle Nauber also scored two touchdowns for the Scotties (3-3, 3-3), one on a 26-yard reception and another on a 40-yard fumble return. … Sam Fisk completed 12 of 22 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns as Chewelah routed visiting Colfax (3-3, 3-3) 38-8. Mike Naccarato caught two touchdown passes for the Cougars (0-6, 0-6), who held a 25-0 advantage at the half. Eric Price scored the Bulldogs lone touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth. With the win, Chewelah avenged a 21-8 loss to Colfax on Sept. 7.

Northeast 2B League

Jake Ford ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns to lead Davenport (2-4, 2-1) to a 21-6 win over visiting Liberty (4-1, 1-1). … In other league action, Chad Godley ran for 126 yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Reardan (4-1, 2-0) to a 39-0 shutout of host Republic (2-2, 1-2). … Mike Osborn threw for 116 yards and four touchdowns to lead Lind-Ritzville (4-1, 3-0) to a 54-20 win over host Springdale (0-5, 0-3). Cory Whitmore and Alex Pfeifer had touchdown receptions and Matt Saetre added a rushing touchdown for the Broncos in the first quarter. Lind-Ritzville dominated in the first half, outscoring the Chargers 34-6.

Martin St. John scored four touchdowns to lead host Columbia (6-0, 5-0) to a 54-8 rout of Pateros (2-4, 2-3) in Hunters. St. John scored twice on the ground, caught a 29-yard pass for a touchdown and returned a kickoff 85 yards for another score. … In other league action, Odessa built a 32-0 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 70-7 win over host Curlew (1-4, 1-4). Bryce Hayunga scored three touchdowns on the ground and caught a 16-yard pass for another score as DeSales (5-0, 1-0) routed host Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia (3-2, 0-1) 34-8. Hayunga scored all four of his touchdowns in the first half as the Irish built a 28-0 lead. … Asotin (5-1, 1-0) defeated visiting Waitsburg-Prescott (2-3, 0-1) 38-15.

Non-league

Shawn Hiebert ran for 172 yards on 23 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns to lead host Lakeland (4-3) to a 32-22 non-league win over Timberlake (4-2) in Rathdrum. After trailing 14-10 at the half, the Hawks outscored the Tigers 27-8 in the second half.
