12-year-old dies after being thrown from truck
A 12-year-old Bonners Ferry boy died following a crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 95 in Idaho when he was ejected from the pickup truck he was riding in.
Larry Dugger was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Idaho State Police.
The driver, 19-year-old Cameron L. Corcoran, also of Bonners Ferry, was taken to Boundary Community Hospital, but his condition was unavailable, authorities said.
Corcoran was driving south on Highway 95 shortly after 1 p.m. when his 1985 Chevy pickup went off the right side of roadway at milepost 514.2 near Bonners Ferry, police said.
When he tried to get back on the highway, he overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway, the state police said.
“The vehicle went airborne and landed on its right side at the base of a tree then rolled back onto its wheels striking a second tree,” according to an ISP release.
The investigation into the crash continues, police said.
