Aaron Boyce called it rewarding.
It was also disappointing. Not the award. The game.
Eastern Washington’s sophomore wide receiver followed up a record-breaking performance Saturday by being named The Sports Network’s NCAA Football Championship Subdivision national Offensive Player of the Week.
“It’s pretty rewarding,” acknowledged Boyce, who caught a school-record 17 passes for 232 yards in a 24-23 Big Sky Conference loss at No. 1 Montana. “But it would have felt better with a win.
“It was a frustrating game to lose,” he added.
The receptions are the fourth most in Big Sky history and the yardage the second highest in school history.
“I’ve never been around a receiving performance like that,” said coach Paul Wulff.
