Area roundup: North Idaho posts win over Sasquatch
Megan Wells, Lisa Carter and Rachel Lopez all scored unassisted goals to give North Idaho a 3-1 non-conference win over the Community Colleges of Spokane in a women’s soccer match Tuesday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Shaunee Phillipy scored in the 61st minute for the Sasquatch, who fell to 7-6-1.
The Cardinals improved to 6-4-2.
Men’s golf
Spokane native and defending champion Dick Bingham shot an even-par 72 to maintain a one-stroke lead at the Washington State Senior Men’s Amateur Championships at Circling Raven Golf Club in Worley, Idaho.
After the first 13 holes, Bingham was at 3 under, but he bogeyed Nos. 14, 15 and 16 before finishing the round with pars.
East Wenatchee’s Lew Mullen is one stroke back heading into today’s final round.

Louisville’s Daryl Fathauer was the individual champion after shooting a 13-under 200.

Portland’s Joan Edwards-Powell shot a final-round 4-under 68 to win her seventh Pacific Northwest Golf Association Senior Women’s championship, played at Manito Golf and Country Club.
Spokane’s Marcy Holt finished 13th with a 17-over 161.
Men’s soccer
Gonzaga keeper Vito Higgins has been named the West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week after posting a pair of shutouts over the weekend.
