Name: Tony Talbot

Age: 64

Hometown: I was born in Toronto, went to high school in New Jersey and graduated from college in California. I transferred to Coeur d’Alene from Kalispell, Mont., in 1994.

Occupation: I retired as the budget and accounts officer with the Idaho Panhandle National Forests in 2005.

Family: My wife Linda and I plus our two grown children: a son in Portland and a daughter in Seattle.

Hobbies: Skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking and building furniture.

What do you like about North Idaho? Its moderate climate, the four seasons, and the summer’s usually not too hot.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? This summer has been too darned hot.

Favorite music: Our tastes are eclectic, from classical to pop to country-western, and even some blues.

Favorite TV show: “60 Minutes”

Favorite movie: “Forrest Gump”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Upper Priest Lake. It’s accessible, but wild, and there’s not a lot of motorized recreation there.
