Recruits want the lie
It’s a sad, sad day for Cougar football.
For years and years they have strived to recruit in Pullman with little success only to produce a winning record once every four years.
Now we have a coaching staff we have wanted for a long time. A team of coaches that wants to be here, live here, play here and stay here. This should be a recruiting pinnacle, but the recruiting gap is getting wider. It’s a failure.
We have a head coach who is old country. He can sit in a recruit’s living room, eat apple pie and talk about old times. But this is not what the parents of these star athletes want. They want to be lied to. They would rather sit on the bench for a contender than start for WSU.
So, what do we do? Hire a coaching prostitute who will use us until he becomes successful then leaves? Or have an also-ran with players nobody else wants.
I guess bring on the prostitute. No matter what, every five years WSU will have a winning record.
