THE SLICE

Slice readers know how it works when the column runs a one-question quiz/contest.

The first person to send an e-mail or leave a phone message with the correct answer wins.

But when the same reader won two contests in a row, I got curious. So I asked Brenda Hutchins to tell me a little about herself.

“I’m a lady of the mature persuasion (great-grandmother) who feels compelled to read the newspaper every morning before going to work at the prison,” she wrote. (Her carrier always has her paper on her porch before 5 a.m.) “I live in the Shadle district. I have reached my goal of appearing in The Slice, since all three of my daughters have contributed items. I can rest easy now.”

Thank you, Brenda. But that raises another question.

What one family has had the most people appear in The Slice?
