Neil Bachman scored two goals to lead the CC Spokane men (17-2-2, 14-1-1 NWAACC) to a 3-0 win over visiting Wenatchee Valley (10-7, 10-6) to clinch the East Region soccer title.

“Amanda Swenson had a goal and an assist to lead the CC Spokane women (10-6-3, 10-3-3 NWAACC) to a 3-1 win over visiting Wenatchee Valley (6-10-1, 6-9-1).

“Keith Kirsch’s goal in the second overtime gave the Whitworth men (13-2-1, 11-1) a 2-1 Northwest Conference win over 10th-ranked Puget Sound (13-2-1, 8-2-1) in Spokane.

“Janece Levien had three goals to lead No. 4 Puget Sound (17-0, 13-0 NWC) to a 3-2 road win over the 14th-ranked Whitworth women (14-2, 11-2).

“Lisa Carter and Rachel Lopez each scored a goal to lead the North Idaho women to a 2-1 win over visiting Western Nevada. NIC will host the District 18/9/6 tourney. Districts 9 and 6 play Friday at 2 p.m. and NIC will play the winner on Saturday at noon.

“Cesar Aguirre had two goals and the NIC men beat Colorado Mountain 5-0 in CdA. NIC heads to Arizona next weekend to take on the District 1 champ.

Volleyball

Niki Clement had 27 kills to lead San Jose State (11-12, 5-7 WAC) to a 30-28, 25-30, 30-21, 27-30, 15-7 win over visiting Idaho (9-12, 5-5). … Michelle Boevers had 17 kills and Becky Jones added 14 kills and 15 digs to lead Gonzaga (16-9, 4-5 WCC) to a 30-23, 25-30, 30-27, 30-14 win over visiting Saint Mary’s (12-9, 4-5). … Beth Hanna had 26 kills to lead PLU (21-3, 14-0 NWC) to a 27-30, 30-23, 30-13, 30-19 win over Whitworth (10-13, 5-9). … Hayley Hills had 20 kills and 19 digs to lead Eastern Washington (10-13, 9-3 Big Sky) to a 30-15, 30-24, 24-30, 30-20 win over visiting Montana State (1-23, 0-12).

Wrestling

Kevin Mitchell (133 pounds) and Lucas Chesher (157) each pinned their opponents to lead North Idaho (2-0) to a 27-12 victory over Montana State Northern in Coeur d’Alene.

Rowing

Gonzaga’s women’s varsity-8 placed third at the Head of American race in Sacramento, Calif.
