Area Roundup: Misa, Dolny lead NIC to win over Sasquatch

Amanda Misa had 14 kills and Meredith Dolny added 18 digs and six aces to lead North Idaho to a 30-28, 30-22, 30-15 win over CC of Spokane in a non-conference volleyball match Tuesday in Coeur d’Alene.

Annie Kitchens had 14 digs to lead the Sasquatch, who fell to 23-12. The Cardinals improved to 20-9.

Men’s soccer

Rocky Snyder scored in the 75th minute to break a tie and give Walla Walla a 2-1 win over CC Spokane in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges match in Walla Walla.

The Sasquatch fell to 17-3-2, 14-2-1 while the Warriors improved to 13-3-3, 12-3-2.

Women’s soccer

Candice Duffey scored three goals and Corrie McNeill added a goal and two assists as Walla Walla blanked CC Spokane 5-0 in NWAACC play in Walla Walla.

The Sasquatch fell to 10-7-3, 10-4-3 while the Warriors improved to 19-0-1, 16-0-1.

Golf

Katie Sorenson (Central Valley High) shot a two-day total of 161 to take the individual title and lead the CC Spokane women’s team to a first-place finish at the Treasure Valley Invitational at Scotch Pines Golf Course in Payette, Idaho, on Monday.

CCS shot 519, finishing two shots better than Columbia Basin.

The CCS men took third place, finishing behind Bellevue and Walla Walla.

Brian Copley (Shadle Park) tied for third with a 147 to lead the Sasquatch.

“Freshman Nick Ellis tied for 23rd with a three-day total of 1-over-par 214 and the Washington State men finished 12th out of 17 teams at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on the New Mexico State Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M.

Football

Defensive lineman Brian Rackley has been added to the Spokane Shock’s af2 2008 roster.
