Baze gets off lightly

The Spokesman-Review

Michael Vick has pleaded guilty to dogfighting charges and his career may be ended.

Russell Baze, the winningest jockey in thoroughbred racing history, whipped an injured horse and the horse later died. Baze was suspended for 15 days (The Spokesman-Review, Aug. 27, 2007). As far as I am concerned, Baze is as guilty of cruelty as Vick. There is no difference between them. The punishments should be the same.
