Stephen McGee had 112 yards passing and added 121 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead No. 25 Texas A&M to a 38-7 win over Montana State on Saturday night in College Station, Texas.
The Aggies scored 38 straight points after falling behind 7-0 to improve to 5-0 in home openers under coach Dennis Franchione.
The Bobcats, of the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly known as Division I-AA, outgained the Aggies and controlled the clock but couldn’t finish drives, missing three field goals and losing a fumble deep in Aggies territory.
Montana 37, Southern Utah 17: At Missoula, Cole Bergquist passed for 150 yards and two TDs and ran for another score while Dan Carpenter kicked three field goals of 41 yards or more to lead the Grizzlies, ranked second in the FCS, over the Thunderbirds.
Lex Hilliard had 22 carries for 108 yards and a score for Montana.
McNeese State 35, Portland State 12: At Lake Charles, La., Kris Bush rushed for a pair of TDs and Derrick Fourroux had two TD passes as the Cowboys beat the Vikings.
All PSU’s points were on field goals by Chris Chalmers.
