Indians fall to Boise 8-5
BOISE – The Spokane Indians saw their playoff aspirations fade to a glimmer after Kyler Burke’s three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth capped a four-run inning and gave Boise an 8-5 win over Spokane Saturday in Northwest League play.
The Indians led 3-1 until Burke’s blast put the Hawks ahead 5-3.
Boise added two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to seal the deal.
Tri-City lost to Yakima 12-4 and is one game ahead of the Hawks.
The Dust Devils finish their series today against Yakima and then head to Boise for a three-game series starting Monday.
Spokane and Boise will wrap up their series today before Yakima comes to Spokane for a three-game series starting Monday.
For the Indians to make the playoffs they will have to win all four remaining games and will need help from Boise and Tri-City.
Tri-City will have to lose to Yakima today and then the Indians need the Hawks to win two out of three from the Dust Devils in the final regular-season series.
