T.J. Flett scored five touchdowns and rushed for a game-high 158 yards, leading Wellpinit to a 40-32 non-league win over visiting Highland Christian.

Quarterback Cody Flett completed 7 of 12 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown for the Redskins, who outscored Highland Christian 14-0 in the third quarter after trailing 16-8 at the half.

Tyler Salinas had 10 tackles to lead the Wellpinit defense.

In other non-league action, Justin Word rushed for 119 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns as Asotin topped host Kamiah (Idaho) 37-20. The Panthers scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away. … Douglas Williams ran for two touchdowns and caught another as Orofino routed visiting St. Maries 36-6 in an Idaho non-leaguer. Quarterback D.J. Wright threw two touchdown passes for the Maniacs, who held a 29-0 halftime lead over the Lumberjacks (0-2).

Volleyball

Central Valley fell 25-17, 25-18 to Cedar Park in the championship match of the Freeman Invitational. The host Scotties beat Chewelah 9-25, 25-14, 15-11 to claim third place. In the fifth/sixth place match, Garfield-Palouse beat Wilbur-Creston 25-23, 26-28, 15-10.
