Ray and Leola Hegwer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Aug. 18.

Hosts for the event included their children and spouses: Walter and Florence Hegwer, Deer Park; Howard and Sue Hegwer, Bellevue, Wash.; Lela and Paul Berman, Yelm, Wash.; and Brenda Hass, Spokane.

Their other daughter is the late Deloris Thompson.

The couple were married Aug. 16, 1947, in Elko, Nev. They have 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
