Praise and worship
The House of the Lord Retreat Center in Tum Tum, Wash., will host a daylong interdenominational praise and worship gathering next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The theme of the event is “That They May All Be One.”
Featured speakers will include the Rev. William Skylstad, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Spokane and president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; the Rev. John Roddam, senior pastor of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Seattle; Sister Linda Koontz, an evangelist from El Paso, Texas; and the Rev. Jerry Malone, a retired Army chaplain and former professor at the Moody Bible Institute.
The gathering will include live music.
Those planning to attend are invited to bring a sack lunch and lawn chairs, though some seating will be provided. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.
The retreat center is at 5285 Rail Canyon Road near Nine Mile Falls.

High holidays
Congregation Beth Haverim, a Reform Jewish congregation in Spokane, plans to host several services this week for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and next Saturday. There will be special children’s services and refreshments.

Eckankar service
An outdoor Eckankar worship service will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley.
Eckankar is the Religion of the Light and Sound of God. The theme of the service is “Your Daily Ticket to Heaven.”
There will be live music, and a potluck lunch will follow the service. The public is invited.
Evensong service
The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will host a service of Choral Evensong at 4 p.m. Sunday as part of its Second Sunday series.
The cathedral’s choir will perform the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis. There also will be music by cathedral organist Janet Ahrend and saxophonist Sylvia Baker.
The cathedral, 127 E. 12th Ave., will be open starting at 1 p.m. for self-guided tours prior to the service.
Missionary to speak
Missionary Clint Braly of New Zealand will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Arden Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road near Colville.
The church has supported Braly financially for many years. All are invited to attend.
