People: Make that B-list – for blasphemy

When Kathy Griffin won a creative arts Emmy last weekend for her reality show, “My Life on the D-List,” she joked that it would move her to the C-list.

She was right: “C” as in censored.

The TV academy said her raucous acceptance speech will be edited when a tape of the event airs Saturday on the E! channel.

In her speech, Griffin said that “a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.”

She went on to hold up her Emmy, make an off-color remark about Christ and proclaim, “This award is my god now!”

Catholic League President Bill Donohue called the remarks a “vulgar, in-your-face brand of hate speech.”

The academy may have another delicate decision, involving an off-color fake music video that aired on “Saturday Night Live” and won a creative arts Emmy for best song.

Andy Samberg of “SNL” says he had yet to be asked by the TV academy to perform the tune with Timberlake on Sunday’s main prime-time Emmys, but he was willing.

Beating a dead hoarse?

Justin Timberlake postponed concerts Monday and tonight after straining his voice while performing on Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, where he took home a leading four trophies – and called on the network to “play more damn videos.”

A con, claims Kanye

Kanye West is mad at MTV for more than just stiffing him in five VMA categories – he’s blaming the network for Britney Spears‘ less-than-stellar show-opening performance.

“Man, they were just trying to get ratings, and they knew she wasn’t ready and they exploited her,” West says.

No more ten-sion?

Finally, in case you missed it, here’s the “Top 10 Reasons I Love Oprah” list that David Letterman brought when he appeared on former foe Oprah Winfrey‘s season-opening talk show Monday:

“No. 10: She smells great.

“No. 9: Without her, we would have never known that quack Dr. Phil.

“No. 8: She helped me start my wildly popular D magazine.

“No. 7: We’re yoga buddies.

“No. 6: Oprah’s incredibly busy, yet she always finds time to ignore my calls.

“No. 5: She agreed to validate my parking.

“No. 4: Taught me how to launder money in the Cayman Islands.

“No. 3: Anytime I’m in Chicago, she lets me crash on her couch.

“No. 2: Oprah gave me my first post-surgery sponge bath.

“No. 1: She’s giving everybody in today’s audience a new house.
