After losing the first game, Mt. Spokane rallied to beat University 16-25, 25-18, 30-28, 25-17 in Greater Spokane League volleyball action Thursday at University High. Caitlin Barshig had 13 kills and Jordon Hoffnagle added 24 assists to lead the Wildcats (2-0). Kasey Jurich had a match-high 19 kills for the Titans (1-1).
Elsewhere in the GSL, Nikki Urquhart had a match-high six kills and six digs, leading Shadle Park (1-1) to a 25-9, 25-13, 25-18 win over visiting Rogers. Taysha Rupert dished out 11 assists to lead the Pirates (0-2). … Ashley Semler had nine kills and Shannon Guisti dished out 32 assists as Central Valley (1-1) beat visiting Gonzaga Prep 25-22, 25-23, 25-12. The win marked the first time the Bears have defeated the Bullpups (0-2) in six years. … Justine Simpson had 11 kills and Kirsten Kelly added a match-high 17 digs as East Valley (1-0) defeated visiting North Central 25-19, 25-23, 25-22. Lindsey Nelson had 11 kills for NC (1-1).

Cheney’s Madison Moore and Kellie Zakrzewski each scored within the first 20 minutes and that was all the Blackhawks (4-0, 3-0) needed in a 2-1 Great Northern League win over host West Valley. Kaley Way scored for the Eagles (3-1, 2-1) in the 39th minute to cap the scoring. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Niina Al-Hassan’s goal off an assist from Anna Albrecht in the 77th minute lifted Pullman to a 1-0 shutout of visiting Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls (2-3, 2-1). Goalkeeper Meg Druffel saved eight shots for the Greyhounds (4-1, 3-0). … Niki Anderson broke a 2-all tie with two goals late in the match, giving Medical Lake (2-2, 1-2) a 4-2 victory over host Clarkston (0-4, 0-3). Anderson scored the game-winner in the 76th minute and scored again 3 minutes later. … Leann Daubel’s goal during a shootout gave Riverside a 1-0 win over host Colville (1-3, 0-3). The Rams (2-2, 2-1) beat the Indians 3-2 in the shootout after both teams failed to score a goal during the first 90 minutes. … Tara Hobbs and Caitlyn Morrow scored two goals apiece as Deer Park (2-2, 2-1) routed visiting Chewelah (0-5, 0-3) 9-0.
