No more sour smell of excess?

Don’t call them her drug years.

Courtney Love was “out sick.”

The former Hole singer and widow of Kurt Cobain says she’s been clean and sober for three years, “but it will be another two years before my memory is back to normal.”

With her first solo album since 2003, “Nobody’s Daughter,” due later this year, Love says, “I know how to play the game now. I have to navigate the system, follow the rules and stop being a rebel. I can’t afford to be a 43-year-old rebel.”

Her daily regimen is filled with Buddhist chanting, Pilates and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. She also meets regularly with a therapist and a drug addiction specialist, and watches daughter Frances Bean, 15, play soccer.

“I’m really just a Beverly Hills soccer mom who wants to be a real estate mogul and design clothes,” she says with a laugh.

While fashion lines and fragrances are necessary for today’s female artists to succeed, Love says, she realizes the timing isn’t quite right for her yet.

“No one wants to smell like ‘Eau du Controversy,’ ” she says.

Just the bald facts

A former bodyguard for Britney Spears has come forward in her child custody dispute with concerns about her “nudity … drug use, and safety issues involving the children.”

Tony Barretto appeared in court Monday to support declarations in sealed documents in the case involving Spears, ex-husband Kevin Federline and their two sons, ages 1 and 2.

His lawyer says Spears hired him when she left rehab in March but fired him in May because “he didn’t hear her when she asked him to pick up her hat.”

A growing family

Mary-Louise Parker has adopted a baby girl from Africa, her spokeswoman confirms.

Parker, 43, also has a 3-year-old son with her ex-boyfriend, actor Billy Crudup.

She stars in Showtime’s “Weeds” as a newly widowed mother of two who starts selling marijuana to maintain her family’s lifestyle.

A darker shade of white

The White Stripes have canceled all their tour dates through the end of the year.

Singer-guitarist Jack White and drummer Meg White had canceled their September shows, saying Meg was “suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time.”

Shooting blanks?

The Sex Pistols are reuniting for a concert to mark the 30th-anniversary rerelease of their only album, “Never Mind the Bollocks.”

Original members John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock will play a one-time concert on Nov. 8 in London, the band announced Tuesday.

The punk pioneers split in 1978 but re-formed in 1996 and played together again in 2003. Last year they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
