Arron Thompson has been hired as a mechanical engineer at L&S Engineering. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Eastern Washington University and is a Navy veteran.

He is a licensed clinical professional counselor and is certified as an advanced alcohol and drug counselor. He holds a master’s degree in counseling from Antioch University.

PROMOTIONS Scott MacIntosh has been promoted to chief operations officer at Wilbert Precast Inc. He has been with the company for 23 years.

Heidi Hansen has been promoted to assistant vice president at Sterling Savings Bank. She has been with the bank for 11 years.

KUDOS Miller.whiterunkle has received the 2006 Benefactor Award from the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery. The company provides marketing to the nursery at no charge.

Tim Kastning, of Rathdrum, was recently certified as a board certified master arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture.

Brad Spears of Northwest Equity Builders recently earned the certified graduate builder designation by the National Association of Home Builders.

APPOINTED Marty Dickinson has been appointed to the Regence BlueShield board of directors. She is president of the Downtown Spokane Partnership.

Dr. Robert Achterberg, of Valleyford, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Dental Quality Assurance Commission by Gov. Chris Gregoire. He is an oral and maxillofacial pathologist at InCyte Pathology. The commission regulates the competency and quality of dental professionals.

Dr. Christine Guzzardo of Spokane was recently appointed to a one-year term on the Examining Board of Psychology by Gov. Chris Gregoire. Guzzardo is a self-employed clinical neuropsychologist. The board examines candidates for licensing.
