Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Readers: Here are three hints from Sharon Beach of San Diego:

“Cell-phone reminder: I would frequently forget to replace my cell phone in my purse after charging it, so now I put my car keys on top of the cell phone and have never again left home without it.

“Address book: I have a small address book (about 4 inches by 6 inches) that contains all my important phone numbers, but I kept misplacing it under piles of papers on my desk or phone table. I took a large silk flower and stuck the stem down the spine of the book, and now it’s easily found.

“Stockpile ice cubes: For those of you who do not have ice makers and want to stockpile ice cubes for a party, place the stored cubes in a brown paper sack rather than a plastic bag. The cubes will never stick together. Skeptics don’t believe this until they try it and are so surprised it works. Your column is one of the highlights of my reading the morning newspaper. Keep up the good work.
