NEW FACES

Windermere Real Estate/Cornerstone Inc. has hired John Stirling as a sales associate for its Spokane office. He previously worked as the district manager for Radio Shack in Spokane from 1989 to January 2008.

Michael Schneider has been hired as account manager for the central and east region of Washington for Washington Manufacturing Services. He has 30 years of manufacturing experience, including management consulting. His new position will be based out of the Small Business Development Center, SIRTI building in Spokane.

The Spokane Advertising Federation has hired Ginger Siemens as executive director. She previously served as the assistant traffic manager for Klundt Hosmer and holds Bachelor of Arts and law degrees from the University of Saskatchewan. Blake Werner has been hired by Northwest Farm Credit Services as an auditor. He previously worked for the Farm Credit Administration in McLean, Va. He holds an undergraduate degree from Westminster College and a Master of Business Administration from New Mexico State University.

North Idaho Orthopedics and Sports Medicine has hired Dr. Jonathan Fisher to join their practice in Sandpoint. He holds a doctor of podiatric medicine degree.

Nichol Pettis has been hired as an environmental, health and safety consultant for Spring Environmental

, Inc. She previously worked for LFR Inc. and holds degrees in chemistry and applied physics from Whitworth University and chemical engineering from Washington University.

Windermere Real Estate/City Group Office Inc. has hired Pamela Brown as a sales associate for its Spokane office. She previously taught in a gifted fifth-grade classroom for seven years and has experience in landscape architecture.

KUDOS

Glen Grussaute was awarded the Hazel Skog Award by The Arc of Spokane for his outstanding service and dedication to people with disabilities. He is president and chief executive officer of Skils’kin, a community-based, not-for-profit agency in Spokane.

The following sales leaders have received “Champion” status in the Red Lion Hotels Corporation Circle of Pride, sales recognition program, as top sales performers for 2007: Eric Allen of Red Lion Templin’s Hotel in Post Falls, Aimee Carr, Cheri Hanson, Eric Johnson, Christy Nauta, and Mike Oechsner of Red Lion Hotels in Spokane.

Dr. Jeremy Marcuson has received the Young Optometrist of the Year Award by the Optometric Physicians of Washington. He practices at Deer Park Vision and has been an active member of the OPW since 2005.

Phyllis Gabel has received an Outstanding Women of Leadership Award for the business professional category from the Women’s Leadership Conference of the Northwest. She is human resources director for Inland Northwest Health Services.

The Next Generation Zone was awarded a Chase Youth Award in recognition of its efforts for Spokane county youth. The organization serves as a youth employment center housed within WorkSource Spokane and operated in partnership with the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council.

APPOINTED

The Center for Biomedical Continuing Education has selected Dr. Hakan Kaya as a faculty member. Dr. Kaya serves as a medical oncologist for Cancer Care Northwest and as director of the Inland Northwest Myeloma/Lymphoma and Transplant program.
