Vox seeks graduates with potential

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

The Vox, a monthly newspaper produced by area teens, is looking for suggestions for a feature story they plan to run in the June/graduation edition – the final Vox edition for this school year.

The feature will be titled “Five graduates who will change the world.” We will feature five Spokane-area graduates who promise to improve our world for the better, in a variety of possible ways.

We are not necessarily looking for the college-bound student with the perfect grade-point average. There are a variety of ways members of the community might feel a graduate is going to go out and change the world.

They could include, but are certainly not limited to: determination, overcoming adversity and helping others, going above and beyond the call of duty and/or a drive toward success.

We hope you are imagining that student already.

This isn’t a contest. It is a story – and we are soliciting ideas from our readers to write it. Please send your suggestions for a teenager you know who you feel will change the world to Vox adviser Erin Daniels at erind@spokesman.com or 999 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99201, by April 25.

Members of the Vox staff cannot be nominated, the student must be a teen graduating from a Spokane-area school this year.
