Orioles 4, Blue Jays 3: At Baltimore, Kevin Millar homered and drove in three runs to back a fine pitching performance by Matt Albers, and the Orioles beat Toronto. Adam Jones tied a career high with three hits for Baltimore.
Tigers 11, Twins 9: At Detroit, Ivan Rodriguez hit a tying two-run triple in a six-run eighth inning then scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly to lift the high-priced Tigers to their first win at home this season, beating Minnesota.
Yankees 8, Rays 7: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Robinson Cano’s pinch-hit homer snapped an eighth-inning tie as New York earned a victory over Tampa Bay. Yankees starter Ian Kennedy cruised into the seventh inning with a 7-2 lead before he was hit on the right hip by Jason Bartlett’s line drive, forcing him out of the game.
Athletics 2, White Sox 1: At Chicago, Greg Smith outpitched Mark Buehrle for his first major league win, and Kurt Suzuki went 4 for 4 as Oakland beat the White Sox for their eighth victory in 10 games.
Red Sox 6, Indians 4: At Cleveland, Manny Ramirez hit a two-run homer and Boston rallied for three runs in the ninth inning against closer Joe Borowski for a win over the Indians. Mike Timlin pitched a perfect eighth inning for the win and Jonathan Papelbon worked the ninth for his fifth save.
Angels 7, Rangers 4: At Arlington, Texas, Ervin Santana rebounded from a three-run first to pitch seven strong innings, Mike Napoli homered and Los Angeles handed Texas its fourth straight loss. Francisco Rodriguez pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save in five chances.
