Mix tapes are easy online

The Spokesman-Review

If you thought the Web and MP3s killed the mix tape, think again. With Muxtape.com, you can create an online mixtape with MP3s you own and easily share that mix with friends anywhere on the globe.

In order to use the service, you must have music files saved on your local hard drive.

After creating an account at Muxtape, upload a song and then choose any others you want on the same mix.

Songs can’t be larger than 10 megabytes. The mix can be no longer than 12 songs.

Once finished making your mix, click the photo of a cassette tape to listen to it. To share it, send others a link to your account at muxtape. Your mix will play as streaming audio.

Virtual China

Some of you will visit China during the summer Olympics. Others might want to consider planning ahead for 2009, when the hotels will return to normal room rates.

In the meantime, try a virtual sightseeing tour of the Middle Kingdom, at www.every scape.com/beijing-beijing.cn.aspx. Very nice photos that allow moving panorama views. But the site should add video.

Fridgewatcher.com

This site – fridgewatcher.com – is worth like 30 minutes of Web voyeurism.

People take pictures of the inside of their refrigerators and post them here. Bizarre? Not as bizarre as some of the stuff you’ll see gracing these low-temperature shelves.
