‘Sorority’ to WB on Web

“Sorority Forever,” the Web series that was filmed in Spokane in June, will be one of the new shows featured in the online resurrection of the old WB television network, which will be named “TheWB.com.”

Its motto: “The next great network won’t be televised.”

“Sorority Forever” is a mystery-drama series directed by Douglas Cheney which follows three incoming freshmen as they discover the secret world within a campus sorority. The show will launch Sept. 8.

Spokane’s own Mikaela Hoover is one of the stars. She grew up here and recently graduated from Loyola Marymount University in L.A., where she majored in theater. She plays the role of Madison.

Barats & Bereta on MySpace

Barats & Bereta – Spokane’s video comedy team of Luke Barats and Joe Bereta – now have a featured spot on MySpaceTV, part of the MySpace Web empire.

They’re posting new videos there, including one called “Bible in a Minute,” a furiously fast retelling of the Bible, and “Double Dragon,” a martial arts mini-epic in which they “break stuff,” like muffins.

This new showcase seems to be working just fine for them – “Bible in a Minute” was the second most popular video on the site after only one day up on Thursday, with more than 150,000 plays. Just go to MySpace.com and find the MySpaceTV link.

They promise to post a new video every three weeks.

Nadvornick’s voice

Yes, that’s Doug Nadvornick’s voice back on Spokane Public Radio (KPBX-FM and KSFC-FM).

Nadvornick has returned to public radio after a brief hiatus beginning last year when he served as news editor of the Pacific Northwest Inlander.

Now he’s back as the North Idaho bureau chief for Spokane Public Radio and a correspondent for the Northwest News Network.
