EWU women rally for win over Montana Tech
Julie Piper scored 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds Tuesday night as Eastern Washington University dumped Montana Tech 73-63 in a non-conference women’s basketball matchup at Reese Court.
Piper was one of five players to score in double figures for the Eagles (3-3), who also got 12 points from Kyla Evans, 11 from Jessica Huntington and 10 each from Nicole Scott and Pauline Ferrall.
Eastern, which trailed 34-33 at halftime, dominated the boards and finished with a 50-34 rebounding advantage over the Orediggers (3-5). Former Freeman High standout Jessie DePell’s 17 points led Montana Tech.
Piper and Scott, who also grabbed 10 rebounds, finished with double-doubles for the Eagles.
Ferrall, who played only 13 minutes, added eight rebounds for EWU.
