Sing: It’s tough to be a woman
The refrain dating from the ’70s was that women could have it all – love, family, career, happiness.
Many women reached for the promise only to find out the actuality is a lot harder to attain.
Christina Aguilera is still trying her best to make it all work. Nearly 28, the pop star said she’s navigating the “balancing act” she expected when she took on parenthood with her husband, Jordan Bratman, 31.
Aguilera delivered her son Max Liron Bratman last January.
“I wasn’t going to give up who I was before I had the baby,” Aguilera said Wednesday on the red carpet outside the Nokia Theatre, where she performed during the “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!”
“It’s important to stay true to that as an example – also for my son to find out what his goals are, what he’s passionate about doing, so it’s sort of leading by example in that sense,” she said.
But, Aguilera added, leaving Max for work is never easy.
“It’s a tough thing,” she said. “I had a moment leaving him today to get ready for tonight of missing him, but every working mom goes through it. They know what it feels like.”
Winehouse moans the blues
British singer Amy Winehouse’s life continues to be a soap-opera meltdown. Earlier this week her estranged husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, admitted he was responsible for the 25-year-old singer’s addiction to drugs.
Now comes that Fielder-Civil is going back to prison after failing a court-ordered drug test.
‘Enquiring’ minds wanna know
Who you gonna believe, the National Enquirer or Kelly Ripa’s people? The Enquirer has reported that Ripa’s marriage to Mark Consuelos, her husband of 12 years, is ending.
“There is no truth to the story,” Ripa’s rep, Stan Rosenfield said Wednesday. “Their marriage continues to be quite healthy.”

Check back in five minutes
Julianne Hough, 21, a two-time winner on “Dancing With the Stars” and an emerging country singing star, said she and fellow country performer Chuck Wicks, 29, may be on the marriage track.
“We definitely want to go there,” says Hough, who has been with Wicks for five months. “The minute we met it was perfect.”
