Locklear plays older woman in ‘Forty’
Tonight’s might-see
“Flirting With Forty,” 9-11 p.m., Lifetime. Jackie (Heather Locklear) is turning 40 and feeling down. Her friends nudge her to a Hawaiian vacation.
There, she meets a muscular young surfing instructor (Robert Buckley). Don’t expect any surprises, but do expect gorgeous settings captured by gifted director Mikael Salomon.
Locklear is actually 47 and was on TV before Buckley, 27, was born. They make the age gap dissolve easily, just as Buckley does with Kim Raver in “Lipstick Jungle.”
“Crusoe,” 8 p.m., NBC. After failing on Fridays, this show has been moved.
That makes sense. It’s an OK Saturday adventure, with lush settings and brisk stories.
Tonight Crusoe learns the mutineers have fixed their ship and are ready to leave. Now he must rescue its captain.
“CNN Presents: Scream Bloody Murder,” 8-10 p.m. CNN; reruns Sunday, 3-5 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.
From the Holocaust to Darfur, a pattern has emerged, Christiane Amanpour says in this passionate documentary: Strong nations failed to move quickly to stop genocide.
She visits people who tried to rally support in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda, Iraq and more.
Sunday’s must-see
“Front of the Class,” 9-11 p.m., CBS. As a boy, Brad Cohen was overwhelmed. He had Tourette Syndrome, causing him to blurt out sounds and make twitchy movements. Kids mocked him; teachers grumbled. And as an adult? He’s now an award-winning teacher.
This is a fascinating, true story, beautifully told. Tom Rickman (“Tuesdays With Morrie”) wrote a quietly upbeat script. Jimmy Wolk is great as Cohen; despite the surface quirks, he’s a charming man to root for.
“Leverage” debut, 10 p.m., TNT. Timothy Hutton plays a former insurance investigator, an honest man mistreated by his old employers.
Now he links with the scam artists he used to chase. Their goal is to cheat the cheaters.
The result is slick, smart and filled with sharp twists.
Other choices Sunday:
“Ty Pennington: Behind the Scenes” (7 p.m.) and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (8 p.m.), ABC. First, Pennington reflects on favorite moments from the 130-plus “Extreme Makeover” homes so far; he also has bloopers and a look at his own home. Then a new “Makeover” helps a Minnesota music teacher.
